Father’s Day Weekend
June 15, 2008
It was a really great weekend! We celebrated Father’s Day on friday since I had to work most of the day today. It started off with a surprise massage at Spa Sydell, then off to a great breakfast. After a little stop at work, Vic and I went out on date night and ate at a Japanese Steakhouse and then met up with Randy and Jill for some coffee. We are so blessed by Haley. She’s growing up way too fast and just turns her dad into a big ball of goo on a daily basis. Here’s a pretty recent pic….
Anybody else know a 22-month old that eats their corn straight off the cob??
On Saturday, we really just chilled. We ran some errands and relaxed a bunch and then joined my family at my sister to celebrate Father’s Day with my dad.
This morning at North Point was great. Overall, the team really did a great job, especially with all of the complexities of the morning with the Spanish Service Pilot happening. John Woodall spoke this morning about Fathering on Purpose. In five years of knowing John and hearing him teach, I have never heard him so passionate and authentic as he was today. His message left me with a lot to analyze about my relationship with my daughter and how I am fathering her. If I forget everything else from his talk, I want to remember that the most important thing I can do is to instill in her a dependence upon God. There is not a father anywhere that shouldn’t hear this talk. Check it out here tomorrow or Tuesday.
This afternoon was a little crazy for me. I took some medicine I take every so often and it totally kicked my butt. I’ve been dizzy and just pretty messed up for the past five hours. It’s been really strange, but I’m finally coming around. Thanks to sara, my nurse sister-in-law, for taking my blood pressure and checking my pulse to make sure I didn’t have some heart thing going on. If she hadn’t done that, I think we might have headed to the emergency room to make sure I was gonna live. I’m feeling a ton better now. Looking forward to a good night’s sleep soon….
